Smile Squad Coordinator

We strive towards improving the health and wellbeing of our rural communities and believe in creating opportunities so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services. The RoleRFDS are now accepting applications for a Smile Squad Coordinator. This is a permanent full time position reporting to the Health Services Manager, Dental.This role is responsible for overseeing the facilitation of the State Government school dental program initiative, Smile Squad, which provides free dental services to government primary, secondary and special schools.  Alongside this they will also be responsible for assisting with the delivery of the Flying Doctor Dental Clinic (FDDC) school dental and aged care dental programs, which is key to RFDS Victoria’s vision to bringing primary health care services to those who are otherwise unable to access them. They will take a comprehensive, hands-on approach to ensure the program meets its objectives. Key responsibilities of the role include service planning and delivery, staff management, logistics, stakeholder engagement, asset management, reporting, administration, amongst other tasks.Key Selection CriteriaExperience in a similar program coordination role and subsequent experience providing management and leadership across a team in a proactive and engaging manner that develops team performance and capability.Ability to identify problems and developing creative, innovative and consistent solutionsAdaptability and ability to lead a team in times of change.Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills with proven ability to use initiative and make decisions relevant to the role.Demonstrated ability to work constructively with team members who may have different viewpoints.Managing time and priorities—meeting timelines and reporting requirements, delegating tasks as appropriate. Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills.Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and including computer literacy skills with a high attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to identify and review processes and implement process improvement initiatives.
