The OrganisationProudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service provides emergency aeromedical and health care services for people in rural and remote regions across Australia. Mobile Patient Care (MPC) is a service division of RFDS Victoria, providing non-emergency patient transport services in both rural and metropolitan locations across NSW, VIC and TAS.The RoleFlying Doctors Mobile Patient Care are excited are now accepting applications for casual Registered Paramedics and Registered Nurses to be a part of our patient transport operations based in Gundagai to service Gundagai/ Tumut and surrounding areas. Applicants will be required to be available for between 2-5 shifts per fortnight, working across a flexible roster.RFDS MPC pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality patient care and treatment during the on-road transport of patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. As a recognised leader within the non-emergency transport industry we offer first-class, structured training, opportunities for professional growth and a supportive and inclusive organisational culture. Key responsibilities include:Perform patient assessment and interventionSafe operation of ambulance and it's equipment during transport of patientsMaintain safe manual handling and stretcher operation techniquesAssess the effectiveness of any intervention in accordance with all Flying Doctor MPC guidelines, NEPT regulations and within prescribed scope of practice. Perform independently and problem solve within established policies and proceduresMaintain positive working relationships with patients and stakeholdersWork collaboratively with other team members. Maintain an understanding of RFDS MPC Policies and procedures and Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations to support best practice.Qualifications and Experience:Qualified as Registered Paramedic or Div. 1 Registered NurseCurrent AHPRA registration (or pending approval for paramedics)Experience in a pre-hospital, emergency or non-emergency patient transport environment desirableKnowledge of NSW NEPT service specifications Additional requirements:Hold (or be willing to obtain) a satisfactory National Police Check completed within the last 6 months.Hold a NSW Working With Childrens Check for employment.Full immunisation history in accordance with RFDS and HealthShare NSW guidelines (please see below attachment for more information)Full NSW drivers licence without restrictionsThis is an exciting opportunity to work for an iconic Australian charity in a significant period of growth within the patient transport industry.
