We work with a large fleet of ambulances and support our transport services with RFDS aircraft.MPC provides clinical care for people travelling from home to hospital, hospital to hospital and hospital to home, as well as transport to and from specialist clinics. About the roleReporting to the Head of Enablement and Compliance, the Control Room Coordinator coordinates non-emergency patient transports, conveying patients with a range of non-medical conditions in accordance with RFDS policies and procedures and Non-Emergency Care Transport clinical practice protocols and regulations. The position contributes to the operational communications, dispatches Mobile Patient Care crews and supervises the day-to-day running of shifts and manages their welfare and fatigue.Key responsibilities will include:Dispatching, coordinating and supporting road personnelReceiving incoming calls and /or online booking and facilitating patient transfersAssisting with daily vehicle and equipment servicing issuesWorking collaboratively to enable a positive, efficient and patient-focussed cultureWorking collaboratively with the roster team, working on short-term scheduling solutions Skills and experience required: Demonstrated experience in an organization or logistical teamKnowledge of or capacity to gain knowledge of medical terminology and conditionsIR literacy including word, excel and use of data capture programsAbility to work under pressure and problem solveAvailability to work a 7 day week, 24 hour rotating roster as required Mandatory vaccination policy:As part of the application process, you will be required to provide evidence of the following vaccinations:Hepatitis BChicken PoxMeasles, Mumps and RubellaDiphtheria, Tetanus and PertussisTuberculosisAnnual InfluenzaCOVID-19 (2 vaccinations + booster)All positions are subject to a National Police Check and holding a Working with Children Check What can working for RFDS offer you: Work for Australia’s most reputable charity (11 out of 12 years) and most trusted charity (last 3 years)Work for your community providing high-quality non-emergency patient care in an organisation committed to staff and patient safety and wellbeing.Generous penalties and overtime allowancesAccess to salary packaging for all employees, including our casualsA less stressful environment than in emergency/pre-hospital care This position is offered on a casual basis to cover planned leave, sickness and other needs as required.
