Mental Health Clinician – Bushfire Recovery

We believe in creating opportunities so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services.Mental Health Clinician - Bushfire Recovery Full-time or part-time opportunity, maximum term contract until 30/06/2022 with the possibility of extension, $85-95K base salary (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus superannuation and salary packaging. RFDS are now accepting applications for Mental Health Clinicians with experience in trauma, grief and loss counselling to deliver outreach services to bushfire affected communities in East Gippsland. This role will provide clinical mental health care for individuals, families and emergency services personnel within a flexible service model including face to face, phone and video appointments. This diverse role involves regular travel providing counselling/mental health consultation to clients and will work within a passionate and supportive multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, with opportunities for professional development and regular clinical supervision is available. Candidates with availability for part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE) up to full-time will be considered.  A mobile phone and laptop will be provided and all travel costs covered for the successful applicant. Please note - this role will require regular travel to and across the East Gippsland region and as such, a driver’s licence and multiple nights away from home at a time will be essential. RFDS does not conduct home visits so all outreach will be conducted within a community or health setting. About YouYou are an experienced clinician, comfortable with regular travel and working autonomously to provide outreach services. You are familiar with the unique challenges of working with rural and remote communities and can demonstrate experience working with trauma, grief and loss presentations and high prevalence disorders You have a passion for helping others and understand the mission of the Flying Doctors, and as such can demonstrate a high degree of presentation and professionalism in your daily dealings with both internal and external stakeholders. Drawing on your experience and understanding of rural communities, you understand the importance of community engagement, development and education in wellbeing space and have the natural interpersonal skills required to build strong stakeholder relationships. As a values driven individual, you pride yourself on your ability to positively contribute to a supportive team culture and thrive on working within passionate and professional multidisciplinary group. Key Selection CriteriaTertiary qualification which includes one or more of the following: Social WorkPsychology Mental Health Nursing Occupational Therapy (Mental Health) All candidates must be fully registered, and meet the required qualifications and standards/accreditations for their field of practice to provide psychological therapies (including continuing professional development requirements). Demonstrated understanding of mental health, wellbeing and disaster recovery issues in rural settings. Experience working across diverse teams and locations, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Experience in working with trauma, grief and loss presentations, as well as high prevalence disorders. This is a rare opportunity to work for an iconic Australian organisation that promotes a supportive and inclusive working culture.
