Fleet Operations Lead

Position PurposeThe Lead – Fleet Operations will oversee over 130+ vehicles in metropolitan and rural Victoria inclusive of NSW, and WA with provision of strategic planning and advice surrounding vehicle locations, lifespan, maintenance and feasibility based on organisational requirements and fleet planning criteria.Successfully coordinate fleet coverage in all Metro, Regional and Interstate locations by management vehicle lifespan, maintenance/damage reporting, servicing, inventory and incident history, resulting in a 24/7 capable non-emergency patient transport services compliant with relevant regulatory requirements.Key accountabilitiesModels high level leadership attributes and conducts self professionallyLead the ongoing service scheduling all vehicles with data analysis of ongoing schedules and oversee contractors and external resources to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance across the board. Monitor expenditure requests with approved authorisation limits.Maintain strong ethical relationships with service partners in the best interests of the RFDS. Inclusive of ongoing assessment of financial expenditure in relation to ongoing contract requirements in the field of acquisition, service and supply.Provide fleet overview and support all areas of RFDS Victoria regarding their fleet and stretcher maintenance schedules. Provide support to other RFDS Sections including Federation data management.Oversee and contribute to the coordination of vehicle commissioning and decommissioning. Inclusive of supervision and over view of all vehicle-based production also inclusive of vehicle movements through commissioning/decommissioning process.Oversee and report on external infringements through delegation and data management where applicable escalate and liaise with external government departments for resolution.Monitor issues, daily logs, operational reports and incident management systems to ensure identified issues relating to fleet and equipment are actioned and resolved quickly.Skills, knowledge and competencies• Strong problem-solving, organisational and planning skills to support a of 24/7 fleet operations• Experience with fleet management applications software, focused on operations, account management, fleet maintenance and vehicle asset tracking• Working knowledge of business continuity planning desirable• Working knowledge of non-emergency patient transport regulations and equipment.
