In Victoria, The Flying Doctor has an extensive patient transport operation by air and road, complemented by a range of mobile and fixed primary health services, such as dental, optical, mental health, GP clinics, speech therapy and a growing number of digital health technologies. The RFDS Marketing and Fundraising team works to support RFDS services by building valuable relationships with individuals and communities across the state, engaging with audiences across multiple channels to raise money for our services and promote the work that we do. The role The Database Coordinator is responsible for providing expertise and management of fundraising and engagement information stored in the Raiser’s Edge NXT (RENXT) database and associated platforms. The role is service focussed, working to maximise use of data and technology to support business requirements. This requires an understanding of fundraising and engagement methodologies as well as providing advice on current and emerging technologies. The role is responsible for maintaining well-structured, high quality data held on RENXT and associated platforms. This includes maintaining the library of policies & procedures and providing user support, regular training and induction sessions. This is a critical role which bridges the gap between the evolving business requirements of the Marketing and Fundraising team and the capabilities of RENXT. Tasks and responsibilities include: Co-ordinating RE processes and procedures on a daily basis Managing and overseeing the work of the Database Officer whose focus is on data imports, exports and quality Maintaining policies and procedures for RENXT based on best practice and consistent with organisation policies; identifying and recommending improved procedures for data management and developing maps to streamline operations and improve data quality. Maintaining code table and data structures of the database. Being responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the database; implementing quality control mechanisms; overseeing the data entry and import process. Providing support to program leaders within Marketing & Fundraising and other stakeholders; encouraging self-service reporting and ownership of their data and processes Providing analysis and reporting based on in-built RENXT reporting, as well as reporting in Excel or other software as required Training and developing database users across the organisation, tailoring training for various stakeholders Providing in-house expertise and technical support to database users on database issues, identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems, working with Blackbaud and other user suppliers as needed. Identifying user requirements and bridging their ‘needs gap’ by working collaboratively with all staff to provide insight and recommendations on their programs Skills and experience required: Experience in a similar database coordinator role Experience in Raiser Edge NXT (Essential) Excellent Excel skills Experience with Microsoft products, especially Sharepoint, Teams and Access desired Experience in analysis and reporting in Excel, Power BI, Tableau is desired Previous experience in the Not for Profit sector with an understanding of data in relation to various fundraising programs such as direct marketing, regular giving, community fundraising and philanthropy This position is offered on a fixed-term 12-month contract with a competitive salary including salary packaging.
