Clinical Educator

The OrganisationProudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides emergency aero medical and health services for people in rural and remote Australia.  RFDS Victoria supports the work of the Flying Doctor throughout Australia and is also growing its services across the State.In Victoria the RFDS works in partnership with a number of community health organisations across the State to improve the health and well-being of our rural and regional communities. We believe in creating opportunities so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services.  Each year we come into contact with over 80,000 patients throughout Victoria, this includes primary health care and transport by air or on the road.The RoleReporting to the Clinical Performance Coordinator, the primary purpose of this role is to develop, maintain and implement training programs for staff that promote high quality patient care, a safe and high functioning operating environment for staff and full compliance with industry protocols.The role will also operate in the capacity of an ATA when not performing training or other project duties.Part of this role can be done working from home but flexibility to travel to Gippsland, Melbourne Metro and Bendigo will be necessary.Key tasks and responsibilitiesContent development and delivery of the Annual Competency training program and the assessment of staff that is compliant with National StandardsContent development and delivery of the new staff  induction program, including final assessment of staff as being ready for active deploymentLead the development and update of a training schedule with a program up to 12 months in advance where possibleWork with Area Managers, Clinicians, Clinical Instructors, Clinical and Quality Manager and MPC Management to identify staff training needs or areas of riskDevelop and deliver tailored training programs for staff needing to address specific skills and training gapsDevelop training programs for new equipment and/or new work methodsOversee the development of content for the ELMO online training platform and maintenance of up-to-date system contentParticipate in clinical reviews to identify training gaps & improvementsEnsure the accurate recording and reporting of staff attendance and assessment of any training providedKey Selection CriteriaExperience in patient transportMeet the requirements and qualifications of an ATA (preferred)Clinical Instructor qualification to support a clinical and non-clinical learning environment (preferred)Cert IV in Workplace Assessment and training (preferred)Capacity to lead a learning environment via formal and informal trainingAbility to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and conflicting prioritiesOpen, approachable and effective communication styleHighly experienced in the patient care industryAble to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholdersPlease note applicants must have full, unrestricted Australian working rights and will be required to provide a satisfactory police check and Victorian WWCC if successful.This is an exciting opportunity to work for an iconic Australian charity that promotes a supportive and inclusive working culture, offers a flexible working environment and attractive employee benefits.If this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been looking for send through a copy of your resume and a cover letter COB 15 September 2021 outlining your suitability for the role.
