We strive towards improving the health and wellbeing of our rural communities and believe in creating opportunities so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services. Full-time Business Analyst opportunity, $95,000 plus superannuation and salary packaging. RFDS are now accepting applications for a Business Analyst who will report to the Applications & Data Analytics Manager. This role will assist in the achievement of RFDS’s objectives through execution of assigned activities. You will be part of a team responsible for application management, data analysis and dashboard reporting.Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesExtract and document end user requirements through interviews, user observation, surveys and study analogous systems.Work closely with the Application Development team to build, test and deploy software application.Develop and maintain data model and data lifecycle across the various IT systems.Design standard and ad hoc reports.Liaise with internal and external parties regarding the provision of dataWork closely with the IT Infrastructure team to set up access to the data sources. RFDS are now accepting applications for a Business Analyst who will report to the Applications & Data Analytics Manager. Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Extract and document end user requirements through interviews, user observation, surveys and study analogous systems.
  • Work closely with the Application Development team to build, test and deploy software application.
  • Develop and maintain data model and data lifecycle across the various IT systems.
  • Design standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties regarding the provision of data
  • Work closely with the IT Infrastructure team to set up access to the data sources. Participate in the design and development of ETL scripts
  • Perform adhoc analysis including creating business models
  • Actively promote a positive public image of RFDS Victoria among our volunteers, health care practitioners, collaborators and at public events as required
  • Actively engage with colleagues and participate in workplace activities as appropriate
  • Demonstrate the organisation’s agreed values through actions

Key Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineer, Information Technology or Data Analytics
  • Work experience/volunteer or holiday placements in relevant field highly regarded
  • Experience using reporting and analysis software such as Tableau, Crystal Reports and Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience using ETL/ELT tools such as Matillion or Alteryx
  • Experience using DW solution such as Snowflake
  • Practical knowledge of SLDC highly regarded
  • Ability to produce SQL
  • Proven analytical skills to interpret data
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Understanding of database query, data import/export, reporting software
  • Ability to understand stakeholder requirements and translate into reports/analysis (ie. even when stakeholders may not have a detailed understanding of data themselves)
  • Ability to use initiative to identify and implement process improvements
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of people in various contexts
  • Detail oriented and solutions focused
  • Understand importance of team work
